Prof. Giuditta Perozzi, PhD

Giuditta Perozzi Giuditta Perozzi graduated in Biology at the University of Rome, Italy in November 1978. She then moved to the University of Rochester, NY, where she completed her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology in 1985. Since 1986 she has been at the National Research Institute on Food & Nutrition (INRAN), where she is presently Senior Scientist. Her research activity is focused primarily on the molecular and cellular biology of zinc transporter proteins in mammalian cells, food safety studies such as intestinal mycotoxin transport and toxicity, and the identification of antibiotic resistance genes in lactic acid bacteria. She teaches "Food Science" for graduate students in Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
